Command, Control and Interoperability Center for Advanced Data Analytics (CCICADA)

Some attendees of the CCICADA retreat enjoyed a tour of the Morgan State University campus.

In March, forty members of the CCICADA Center gathered at Morgan State University to present their work, engage in discussions about a broad spectrum of the center’s research, and use the meeting as a forum to interact and network personally and professionally. Present were CCICADA students and faculty, as well as Dr. Joseph Kielman, Chief Science Advisor and Acting Deputy Director for the Command, Control, and Interoperability Division of DHS. Dr. Kielman initiated the second day of the program by citing the “deluge of data” and the threats to homeland security that arise without adequate tools for organizing, managing, sharing, and providing decision support.

The retreat also included presentations, posters and demonstrations on center projects by CCICADA students and faculty. As a result of the event’s success, plans are underway for a second retreat in Fall, 2010.
