Middlesex University in London will begin a new Masters by Research degree program in Visual Analytics this Fall 2010.  The focus of this degree will be to provide students with the latest knowledge, skills and research experience to better address the increasing challenges of trying to gain insight from large and diverse data of varying quality.  Graduates of the program will be prepared to address the challenges in numerous domains, such as defence, security, finance, biomedical research and business intelligence.  This 12-month program (or 24-month for part-time students) will be accompanied by a series of workshops covering topics in Visual Analytics, including logic and reasoning, human-computer interaction, sense making, and information visualization, and will culminate with a dissertation.  The program is supported by Middlesex University’s School of Engineering and Information Sciences, and the UKVAC.  Applications to the program are now being accepted.
