Hello, iVAC Partners and Friends!

This edition of the Integrated Visualization and Analytics Community (iVAC) Newsletter is focused on the Precision Information Environments (PIE) Program.  Working with stakeholders from across the emergency management community, researchers are developing the future work environments for emergency management.  These PIEs will provide tailored access to information and decision support capabilities that adapt to the varying users and phases of emergency management.  A PIE will provide analysis and simulation capabilities through novel interactions that transform planning, communication and decision making by first responders, policy makers, and the public.
This edition includes an overview of:

  • The PIE Research Roadmap

  • Emergency Management Gap Analysis

  • Activity Awareness Dashboard

  • PIE Recommender Systems

  • LiveWall

  • PIE Stakeholder Advisory Group

The PIE program is managed by the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, through the sponsorship of DHS Science and Technology Directorate.
The articles in this iVAC issue highlight several of the recent PIE R&D and outreach activities. For more information on PIE, visit www.precisioninformation.org or contact Dr. Bill Pike at bill.pike@pnnl.gov.
